Santee Cooper successfully completed construction of their 900MHz, P25 trunking system. Despite implementation schedule impacts from three hurricanes the project was completed within scope and under budget. The system consists of geographically redundant switching centers with 65 radio sites and 35 dispatch console positions across 18 dispatch locations. All user groups have migrated and the system is fully operational.
The Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS), one of the nation’s largest P25 public safety communications systems, provides service for over 1,900 state, federal, tribal and local government agencies, and more than 100,000 first responders. Currently the MPSCS is in the final phase of a system-wide update that includes upgrades for core switching equipment, site repeaters, power systems, IP/MPLS microwave backhaul network, dispatch consoles and recording equipment, mutual aid equipment, and structural tower remediation.
The Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN) is a 122 site, P25 network that currently provides service for over 35,000 first responders in Tennessee including the Highway Patrol, Department of Correction, Department of Transportation, and multiple local government public safety agencies. Plans are underway to transition other state agencies, counties and utilities to the network.
